YEAST

![]()
Beth
Sholler is now the Yeast Gal for the club and has all the stuff. If you want
yeast, its best to give almost a week's notice to Beth (time for her to
propagate and time for you the brewer to step-up).
Beth is looking for interest in what yeast, members want the club to carry. Our
current yeast bank is in need of imporvement and Beth only wants to re-stock
what the club members will use.
This is what is available so let Beth know what you want her to carry -
otherwise he will have to make a command decision based upon her best
judgement. Members who have paid their dues get to vote. Once we know what the
club is interested in, Beth will restock selected slants.
Beth is also trying to find sources of slants other than Brewers Resource
(BrewTek). If anyone knows of any, please contact her and provide the
information.
As Of Aprils
Elections:
Brian Sanders has
resumed his former role as Keeper of the Yeast. Also, to provide HBU members an alternate source to the more
popular yeasts, especially handy for those members who live or work in the
Eastern HBU region (East Eglin and beyond), we've established a new satellite
"Yeast Bank", a small subset of slants currently maintained by Beth Sholler, as she was caught on camera
saying, "You'll have to pry these babies from my cold dead
fingers!" So, if you live or work
near the East side region and you'd like the Yeast Bank to stock your favorite
strains, contact Beth.
We have a well-stocked yeast bank. HBU members are entitled to two starters per month. If you'd like to take advantage of this
excellent club benefit, contact your nearest Keeper of the Yeast, to make
arrangements. Provide a few days
notice, and I’ll be happy to bring some to the next meeting. Allow at least a week before brewing to step
up the yeast. To see a list of our
inventory check out the website: http://members.cox.net/hbu/BrewTek_Yeast_Slants.htm
